Battery Storage
Backup power.
Peak savings.
Add a battery to your existing solar.
Whether you’re going solar now or you already have panels, a battery gives you control: stay powered during outages, reduce peak-rate costs, and store more of your solar production.

BATTERY BENEFITS
Power when it matters.
- Ride through outagesKeep essentials running when the grid drops.
- Use more of your solarStore production for night + peak hours.
- Future-proof upgradesEVs, pool pumps, and rising rates—battery helps.
Final sizing depends on your loads, roof/solar production, utility rate plan, and panel/inverter compatibility.
How it works
Solar + battery, simplified.
Batteries charge from solar (and sometimes the grid), then power your home when needed. The “best” setup depends on what you want backed up and how your utility rates work.
1) Load discovery
We identify the circuits you want backed up: fridge, lights, Wi-Fi, outlets, HVAC, etc.
2) Battery sizing
Based on your daily usage + outage goals. One battery for essentials, two+ for more coverage.
3) Backup design
Critical loads subpanel or whole-home backup (when feasible). We pick the cleanest option.
Add-on installs

What we check
- Inverter compatibilityString inverter, microinverters, hybrid inverters, and brand-specific requirements.
- Main panel capacityIf you need a subpanel, line-side tap, or panel upgrade.
- Backup goalEssentials-only vs larger loads (AC, well pump, EV, etc.).
Common outcomes
Most battery add-ons fall into one of these buckets:

Notes
1 battery
Essentials backup
Fridge, lights, outlets, Wi-Fi
2 batteries
More runtime + circuits
Better coverage, more flexibility
2+ batteries
Large loads
May enable partial HVAC / whole-home goals
FAQ
Battery questions, answered
Can I add a battery if my solar isn’t from Firefly?
Often yes. We’ll verify inverter/monitoring compatibility and your electrical setup.
Do batteries work during an outage if it’s cloudy?
Your battery powers backed-up loads. If your system is configured for backup + solar, solar can recharge the battery when the sun is available.
Is 1 battery enough?
For “essentials backup,” yes for many homes. If you want longer runtime or bigger loads, 2+ is common.
Do I qualify for tax credits?
In many cases, storage qualifies when installed with solar. Eligibility depends on your tax situation and current rules. We can explain what typically applies.
